The Bushle Monsters

When I take walks along the lake (Hallstatt Lake, HallstätterSee) there is this kind of grass that I call the 'Bushle Monsters'. The grass looks like hair. Along the shore you could get the kind of impression that there are heads popping out of the ground everywhere. Well this is maybe just a matter of imagination or fantasy. Not of paranoia. so do not worry.

Some of the bushle monsters remind me on the characters of the final fantasy game. Gaming with the phantasy and imagination does not need technical equipment. So it is a kind of low cost entertainment. Well, I had my share in doing computer games. One of my favorite ones was 'Gothic' and adventure game. I started computer gaming in the late 80ies on a Mac Plus. There were games like 'Lode Runner' or 'Dark Castle', 'Uninvited' and a lot of others.

Digital photography allows me to share these pics easily. I have a couple of accounts on photo-sharing sites, like twitpic, twitgoo and a lot of others. For making the eyes of the bushle monsters I used paint.net which works kind of intuative. So picture manipulation does not make me to read thick books and visit workshops. So you might call me lazy.

Do not be scared, the bushle monsters are usually busy with themselves. Just like humans. They do not give you much attention. However if you do not watch your way you can stumble over them.

They focuss on their hair, their grassy hair which contacts the sun and produces nourishment. Their roots are mostly for protection, so that they do not get washed into the sea. Nevertheless the roots find food in the biological remains of other plants and animals that decay in or close to the lake.

Above you see an area of bushle monsters, a real population. The time is early spring. I will update you, to show you what they look like in summer. Will they turn green. I guess yes. Now they look just tired and brown. Tired from a long Austrian Winter in Central Europe.
